Lookalikes 62

Discovering Pig Magic by Julie Crabtree

Here's To You, Rachel Robinson by Judy Blume

These are both rather nice but I'm not really a fan of the HUGE AUTHOR NAMES and the cropping on Pig Magic is more interesting and also features one of my favorite fonts so it wins in my book!

Which is your favorite!

Thanks goes to Sarah and Korianne who also noticed this lookalike!

The Six Rules of Maybe by Deb Caletti

Not the same but similar enough for me. I love this angle!

  1. With all the millions of stock photos out there, it is surprising how often the same ones get used.

  2. I'm with Lenore - it surprises me the similarity. Do they buy from same stock company? Is there a cost-effective way to check? Has this always been done and now that we are so "visual" we notice it more? I wonder these things...

Since I love Judy Blume - I give the Rachel Robinson cover props but I like the older ones without anyone on the cover...these new ones all look the same...

  3. Actually a lot of the stock photo companies carry the same images so there is actually a lot less out there than you would think. You'd be surprised when I'm trying to find an image sometimes there are really only a few to pick from. So then the good ones get used over and over again.

  4. I'm going with the The Six Rules of Maybe as my favorite, but Discovering Pig Magic is my second favorite. The cropping is definitely more eye-catching, but I'm not a fan of how they put the title.

  5. It's really nice to learn about those stock photos. Imagine how the people in the photos find out that they're on not one but many book covers, it must be a cool experience. Btw I vote for the third one, it's blue and it's sad, just perfect to me ^^

  8. I like Discovering Pig Magic, pretty much because of the font. I also like the close up picture better.

  10. The leading lines are cool. It's so cool how it's literally the same picture! I like Discovering Pig Magic the best--the font is more fun, and the colors pop!

  12. I'm with you, I like the Pig Magic one better. I guess these photos get used and reused simply because they really are pretty darn good!

  13. Where do you find these? Wow, this happens somewhat often.

    I like the second one.

  15. These posts are so much fun. I guess they need to milk every photo shoot to its limit.
